Meet coach hannah
With a coaching background rooted in football and the development of young female athletes, Hannah brings a passion for performance and building confidence to Youth Strength Academy. Her aim is to help young athletes develop physically, enjoy their training and understand how to take charge of their own progress.
A journey through football
Hannah studied Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough University, graduating in 2024. During her degree, she developed a strong interest in performance analysis, biomechanics and female athlete development.
Since graduating, she has worked across academy football, senior women’s football and private coaching, including roles with Reading FC, Ascot United and her own coaching business. She has also gained experience working with athletes within Chelsea, Arsenal, Southampton, Portsmouth and England pathway environments.
Hannah currently works at Reading FC alongside her coaching at YSA.
Learning and developing as a coach
Alongside her BSc in Sport and Exercise Science, Hannah holds personal training qualifications up to Level 3 and is currently working towards her UKSCA accreditation.
Her interest in coaching comes from both her own enjoyment of sport and the opportunity to help others become more capable and confident. She recognises how much influence a coach can have on a young athlete’s relationship with training, and wants that experience to be positive.
For Hannah, watching an athlete move from uncertainty to confidence, and begin taking ownership of their progress, is one of the most rewarding parts of the job.
Challenging, enjoyable and individual
Hannah’s coaching approach centres on making training challenging, enjoyable and suited to each athlete.
At YSA, she aims to support physical development while helping young athletes build confidence and understand why they train. She wants them to develop the skills and knowledge to become more independent, while continuing to enjoy their sport.
A memorable season
One of Hannah’s coaching highlights was supporting Ascot United during their successful 2025 season, when the team earned promotion from tier 5 to tier 4 and won the SRWFL Cup.
It stands out as a proud moment in her journey, bringing together her love of football and her commitment to supporting athletes’ development.
Beyond coaching
Outside work, Hannah enjoys training in Muay Thai and hopes to step into the ring for a fight soon. She also follows the Women’s Super League and supports Arsenal Women.
Away from sport, she loves reading, finding time to switch off with a good book between coaching and training.
